Dental Treatment.— During the year under review
the Dental Surgeon has continued advice and treatment
for children under five years of age, and expectant
and nursing mothers. During the year eight expectant
and nursing mothers received treatment at a cost to
the Committee of £8 7s. 6d.
Orthopaedic Treatment.—The district Orthopaedic
Scheme is carried out in conjunction with the Urban
Districts of Grays and Tilbury, the Orsett "Rural District
Council and the Essex County Council. The Orthopaedic
Surgeon appointed, Mr. B. Whitchurch Howell,
F.R.C.S., visits the district at frequent intervals. Aftercare
is carried out by the Orthopaedic Masseuse three
times weekly, at a specially equipped Clinic in Grays.
The following tables will show the amount and nature
of work carried out during the year.
