The Scheme of the Borough Council for dealing with Tuberculosis
has followed along former lines, and, under the capable guidance of
Dr. N. M. Donnelly, the Tuberculosis Officer, has, during the past
year, accomplished a great amount of work. The following is the text
of Dr. Donnelly's Report for 1929:—
I have pleasure in submitting herewith the Annual Report
on Tuberculosis work in the Borough.
Notifications. The following table gives a summary of the
notifications received from 30th December, 1928 to the
28th December, 1929, and is prepared in accordance with
the requirements of the Ministry of Health.
The number of Primary Notifications is 238; 195 Pulmonary
Tuberculosis and 43 Non.pulmonary, as compared with 166
Pulmonary and 47 Non.pulmonary for the previous year.
* By international agreement, cases of miliary tuberculosis which, prior
to 1926, were classified under "Pulmonary," are now included under "Non.
pulmonary T uberculosis,"
