children under one year of age died of Pneumonia, as against an average
of 18 for the years 1925, 1926 and 1927, during which the infantile
mortality rate was falling. Diarrhoea accounted for 17 deaths against
a similar average of 11. The following Table gives details of the
causes of death in the various age-groups:—
