Sanitary Inspection of the Borough. 75
Table XXXVI. gives a summary of the sanitary operations
carried out in the Borough during the year.
The number of drains which were tested was 849 and of
these 664 were found to be in a defective condition. The drains
of 40 houses were re-constructed.
Damp conditions have been remedied in 1,026 premises,
and in 135 of these damp courses were inserted.
16 privies and earth closets are known to be in existence in
the Borough, and all of these are in connection with sports grounds.
It will be seen from this Table that 144 cases of overcrowding
were abated. 48 of these cases were accommodated
in London County Council houses, and 96 elsewhere.
