Maternal Mortality.
Seven deaths occurred from accidents and diseases of
pregnancy and 14 from Puerperal Fever, giving a total of 21
deaths after childbirth. This is equivalent to a rate of 4.8 per
1,000 births, compared with 4.47 in 1930.
Enquiries into all maternal deaths, which were instituted in
1928 at the instance of the Ministry of Health have been continued.
