The average composition of the above 825 samples was as
follows:—
Total Milk Solids 12.28 per cent.
Milk fat 3.51 „
Non-fatty Solids 8.77 „
During the year four informal samples, one each of Brandy
and Soda, Cream, Pickles and Tongue, were submitted as the
result of complaints having been received from ratepayers in
respect to them, but in no case was any deleterious ingredient
found to be present.
In concluding we should like to place on record the valuable
assistance and hearty co-operation we have, at all times, received
from your Chief Food Inspector, Mr. Thomas Newell.
