DISINFECTION.
The total number of disinfections of rooms during the year by the
Council's disinfecting staff was 8,023. Of this number 3,553 rooms were
disinfected after the occurrence of the ordinary notifiable infectious
diseases, as against 3,142 rooms in 1929. 4,103 periodical sprayings of
rooms occupied by Phthisical patients were also carried out during the
year.
907 verminous rooms were sulphured and otherwise cleansed by
the Council's staff during the year, as against 810 in 1929.
Among the total number of disinfections (8,623) it was found
necessary to strip 115 rooms. Of these 72 were in relation to the
notifiable diseases, and 43 after the termination of cases of Phthisis.
