It was necessary, also, repeatedly to report that the Contractor for the North
Western Division wan not properly carrying out the terms of his Contract. He was,
therefore, lined £100, being £5 for each of 20 cases of neglect. It also became
necessary to employ vans and labour to remove snow and mud from roadways at a cost
of £40 7s. 10½d. These measures had the desired effect for the remainder of the term
of Contract.
In the South Western Division the work was done satisfactorily.
REMOVAL OF DUST.
The number of dust complaints during the past year and the three previous years are shown in the following table.
