Three masons, with a laborer each, were employed in the repairs
of the footway pavements—(nearly the whole time of one is occupied in
the repairs of trenches opened by the Companies)—and the amount paid
them for wages was £302 19s. 8d. for the year, and £214 10s. 10d.
was contributed for repairing trenches.
One man has been generally employed in dressing old stone
as follows:—
326 yards super York Edging.
506 feet run Curb.
at a cost of £98 8s. 4d.
SEWERS WORK.
The amount paid for Sewers Work during the year is as follows:—
Acton-street—250 ft. run 12-in. pipe sewer £40 13 6
King-street and Finsbury-market—reconstructing sewer. 560 2 11
(£385 contributed by Messrs. Waterlow.)
King's-road and Louisa-street—200 ft. run 12-in. pipe
sewer 42 4 9
Three flushers and one laborer were employed in cleaning and
repairing the sewers in the Parish, and the amount of their wages for
the year was £293 17s. One man was also employed in cleansing the
urinals, and his wages for the year amounted to £54 11s. 1d.
Two Urinals have been erected in the Parish during the year—one
in King John's-court, Holywell-lane, at a cost of £45 17s. 5d., and the
other in Hudson's-court, Kingsland-road, at a cost of about £20.
The number of Public Lamps in the Parish on the 25th March,
1875, was 1,164.

The cost of lighting the Parish was £5,043 16s. 5d. for the year.
