I cannot conclude my report without again testifying to the
great energy and ability shown by Mr. Mayne in the many
extensive and important works which have been necessary during
the year in this rapidly increasing neighbourhood.
Owing to his promptitude, I feel sure that several outbreaks
of infectious disease have been warded off.
