Diarrhœa and Enteritis were responsible for 7 deaths,
corresponding to a death-rate of .11 per thousand of the
population.
The deaths were distributed through the Wards as
follows:—
Wimbledon Park 0
St. Mary's 1
St. John's 0
Cottenliam Park 0
North Wimbledon 1
Dundonald 0
Trinity 2
South Park 3
Haydon Park 1
South Wimbledon 6
Infantile Mortality.—There were 71 such deaths during
the year (including transferable deaths), or 62 per thousand
registered births, showing an increase of 12 on last year's rate,
when there were 43 deaths and a rate of 50. The previous
year there were 57 deaths, and the rate was 76. The average
for the past five years is 70.
The infantile mortality rates for the different Wards are
as follows:—
Wimbledon Park 67.8
St. Mary's 75.9
St. John's 32.2
Cottenham Park 76.9
Dundonald 79.1
Trinity 62.2
South Park 32.3
Haydon Park 94.9
Twenty-five babies, or 35.2 per cent, of the total deaths,
failed to survive the first week of life, and 40 the first month.
Notification of Births Act, 1907.—During the year 941
births were notified by the following persons:—Parents 128,
Midwives 677, Doctors 106, and other persons 30.
During the same period 1.124 births were registered.
