Proceedings were instituted in one case. The defendant,
an itinerant vendor from an adjoining district, was found to
be selling rabbits which were quite unfit for human consumption.
He was convicted by the local Magistrates, a fine of £5
and £3 15s. 0d. costs being imposed.
Sale of Food and Drugs Acts, 1875 to 1907.—The following
table shows the number and nature of articles purchased
and submitted for analysis during the year. The preliminary
or test samples were examined by the Council's Analyst.
