tions within our own District of residents belonging
to and brought from other places; these are the
Cottage Hospital and the Isolation Hospital at
Tolworth. In this way, we receive 17 deaths from
the Kingston Infirmary and one from Brookwood
County Lunatic Asylum, and transfer to their
respective districts 8 from the Cottage Hospital and
2 from the Isolation Hospital.
Table II.—Deals with variations of population,
deaths and births in each of the three localities that
go to form the Urban District.
Table III.—Shows at a glance the incidence of
Infectious Disease notified in each of the three
portions of the District, and of the cases transferred
to the Isolation Hospital.
Table IV.—Differentiates or classifies the
causes of death under various headings, at different
age groups, and in localities at all ages.
Table V.—Is a new table, supplied this year,
and concerns Infantile Mortality.
Vital Statistics.
Death Bate.—The total deaths registered in
the District and uncorrected were 134, which gives
a death rate of 7.9, and up to the year 1900 the rate
used to be calculated in that way, but since then the
additions and subtractions I have alluded to have
been available, and the result is what is known as a
"corrected" death rate. Under this plan, the nett
