Although the number of cases of Scarlet Fever notified is considerably
in excess of that for last year, and they were more widely
spread over the district, being approximately equally distributed
to North and South of the railway, yet there was no epidemic
prevalence of the disease; the total being constituted of a series
of isolated outbreaks occurring largely amongst children attending
