SCARLET FEVER.
Eighteen cases were notified, as against 50 in 1907. The
incidence of the disease was 1.4 per thousand population. On
one occasion, a girl, who had attended school for two days in
the peeling stages of Scarlet Fever, was notified as suffering
from the disease, the parents not being aware of the fact. I
inspected the class, and no further cases occurred. The schoolroom
was, of course, disinfected.

MEASLES.
The provisions of the Infectious Diseases Notification Act
extend also to Measles, and 60 certificates were received.
Owing to the prevalence of the disease, and specially in the
surrounding districts, a watch was kept in our schools, so that
suspicious cases might he excluded.
