INFECTIOUS DISEASES.
The following table shews the total number of cases of each
disease notified under the Infectious Disease (Notification) Act,
1889, for each year since 1900 :—

The above figures include notifications received from public
institutions in the district, and it is satisfactory to record, that
during the past year the total of 147 is the lowest since 1904, when
the total was .145.
