Such receptacle shall be of such size and drained in such
a manner as the Council may determine, and shall be emptied
and cleansed at least once a week.
Pigs and Pigstyes.
8. The Council may make byelaws for describing the
materials to be used in the construction of pigstyes, promoting
cleanliness and ventilation of pigstyes and promoting cleanliness
in the keeping of pigs.
Keeping of Animals.
9. The Council may make byelaws for describing the
animals which may be kept on any premises and the conditions
under which such animals may be kept as regards (a) size of
yard, (b) position and proximity of dwelling house or dwelling
houses, (c) number of animals, (d) construction of sheds in
which animals are kept.
DRAINAGE.

Tests.During the year 158 tests and re-tests were applied by the Health Department, and the following table gives a statement of the reasons for the tests, the number of houses involved and the number of houses in which the drains were found defective:—
