It is satisfactory to note, that with the exception of the year
1904, the total number of notified cases is the smallest recorded
in any one year since the Notification Act has been in force.
This result has occurred without any large proportion of the
cases being isolated in hospital, only those cases being removed
in which home isolation could not reasonably be carried out.
Out of the 149 cases of infectious illness referred to in the
foregoing table, 29 occurred in institutions in this district receiving
persons from outside as under:—
