Cancer. The number of deaths which have occurred in this
district as due to Cancer, is given in the following table for each
year since 1900.

The exact nature and origin of Cancer has not been finally
determined, but recent research seems to shew that it is not
infectious and that the presence of persons suffering from Cancer
in the community constitutes no menace either to the public or
to the immediate relations of the sufferers.
