BAKEHOUSES,
The whole of the Bakehouses are periodically visited by the
Inspectors to ensure that the regulations as to cleanliness and
ventilation are carried out.
The Chief Sanitary Inspector and myself visited a number
where this was net satisfactory, to which the owners' attention
was drawn.
COWSHEDS, DAIRIES AND MILKSHOPS.
There are 6 cowsheds and 155 dairies and milkshops in
the Borough. They are all inspected regularly to see if they
are keDt in the best possible sanitary condition.
Most of the milk is brought into the Borough by rail from
the country districts of Essex. It is pleasing to note that
dealers are recognising the fact that it is very important to prevent
dust and micro-organisms gaining access to milk during storage.
