‡ The figures required in columns 2 and 3 are the total number of lists received from employers who sent
them both in February and August as required by the Act and of the entries of names of outworkers in those
lists. They will, therefore, usually be double of the number of such employers and (approximately) double of
the number of individual outworkers whose names are given, since in the February and August lists of the same
employer the same outworker's name will often be repeated.
