During the year, the drains of all the houses in Harold Road, which had not been connected
already, were diverted to the sewer in that road, which discharges at present into the Sutton system of
sewers.
6. A systematic inspection, or house-to-house visitation, of certain parts of the district which are
most in need of it, including Pound Street, Wrythe Lane, and Harold Road, was frequently made by the
Inspector of Nuisances and ourselves, and defects of the closets, of the drainage, and of the dwellings, were
remedied as far as was practicable, but there are many defects there and elsewhere, which can only be
effectually dealt with by the provision of the proposed sewers.
7. The following is the Sanitary Inspector's return of the Nuisances dealt with, and other work
done, from the time of his appointment in October to the end of the year:—
