24 cases of this disease were notified—10 males and 14 females. 11
proved fatal.
3 belonged to Limehouse 1 death.
5 belonged to St. George-in-the-East. 2 deaths.

The death-rate for the whole Borough was .05 per 1,000 of the population.
32 cases were notified, or 1 less than in the previous year. 11 belonged
to Limehouse, 4 to St. George-in-the-East, 9 to Mile End Old Town, and 8 to
Whitechapel. 17 cases were removed to hospitals.
12 cases of Puerperal Fever and 38 of Puerperal Pyrexia were notified
during the year—10 more than in the previous year. All these cases were duly
investigated.
6 belonged to Limehouse.
6 belonged to St. George-in-the-East.
30 belonged to Mile End Old Town.
8 belonged to Whitechapel.
48 were removed to hospital.
161 cases of infectious disease removed to hospital were found not to be
suffering from the disease stated on the certificate.
This number referred to 73 cases of Scarlet Fever, 87 of Diphtheria, and
1 of Small Pox.
64 of the cases were notified by Private Practitioners and 97 from Public
Institutions.
380 cases of Pneumonia, 1 of Dysentery, and 1 of Malaria were notified
under these Regulations.
