The Invalid Kitchens gave dinners and extra nourishments to several
patients not coming within the scope of those allowed this through the Borough
Council, and the Jewish Hoard of Guardians again assisted practically every
case recommended to them by the Care Committee.
The Red Cross Society and the United Services Fund assisted several
ex-soldiers and their families during the year.
Nine fresh patients have had the loan of single beds and bedding from the
Borough Council in order that they might sleep alone.
A number of patients have been referred to the Public Assistance Committee
for extra help or nourishment and for clothes when going to sanatorium.
Handicraft
Class.
The handicraft class continues to do well. 46 classes were held during the
year and the number of patients attending has been satisfactory.
As it was not found possible to hold the Sale of Work at the Carpenter's
Hall this year, we combined with the class at Poplar, and by the kind permission
of the Warden of Toynbee Hall a small but very successful Exhibition and
Sale was held there on December 6th.
The sale was a great encouragement to the patients attending the class.
At both the Poplar and Stepney Stall over £16 of goods were sold, and it is
hoped that it will be possible to arrange for another sale there during 1934.
Practically all the goods made by the ex-Service men attending the class
were sold at the Imperial Institute Armistice Week Exhibition.
The Secretary is always glad to receive orders for the class or to show
anyone interested the work done there.
Special
Treatment.

The Council has arrangements by which they pay for the attendances of patients undergoing certain forms of treatment at various hospitals as follows:
