The fines and costs amounted to £186. 16s. 6d.
The fines and costs allowed by the Magistrate under the
Public Health Act of 1891 amounted to £375 11s.
Total fines and costs, £562. 7s. 6d.
In two cases only did the Magistrate dismiss summonses
and grant costs against the Council. The amount of such costs
was £9. 9s.
I beg to call special attention to the Inspector's Table
which shows the large amount of work successfully carried out
by your Officers. The Table shows the amount of work done
in the various Districts, but, in future reports, I intend to show
the amount of work accomplished by each Inspector. I am
personally indebted to them for the ready manner in which
they fell in with my views when they were transferred from
their various authorities. They, as well as the Clerical Staff,
have carried out their work to my entire satisfaction.
