Inquests were held on the bodies of 40 persons, and the
following verdicts were returned:—
Heart Disease 5
Fracture of Ribs 2
Congestion of Lungs 3
Suicide by Drowning 3
„ Shooting 1
Inanition 1
Rupture of Aneurism of Aorta 1
Fracture of Skull 1
Accidentally Suffocated in bed 3
Convulsions 4
Spasm of Glottis 1
Apoplexy from fall 1
Apoplexy 2
Suicide by cutting the throat 1
Drowned 11
During the year 414 notifications of infectious diseases
were received. The following tables will show under what
heads the various notifications were placed, and the number of
cases removed to hospital.
