SUMMARY PROCEEDINGS.
Summonses have been taken out in the following
cases :—
Adulteration 7

Fines were inflicted in each case.
In addition to the above-mentioned summary cases,
proceedings have been taken against certain persons concerned
in the management of disorderly houses.
DISORDERLY HOUSES.
It has only been found necessary to undertake four
prosecutions for keeping disorderly houses during the year,
and a conviction was obtained in each case.
In several cases, however, notice was given to the persons
responsible for the conduct of alleged disorderly clubs and
houses of ill-fame, with the effect of causing a discontinuance
of the annoyance and thereby rendering legal proceedings
unnecessary.

The cost incurred by the Vestry for the year in respect of the Sale of Food and Drugs Acts, in addition to the costs of the prosecutions referred to, is as follows:—

£s.d.

Purchase of Samples, &c.111
