3rd of January to the end of December no less than 511 cases
were made known to the Sanitary Department of the Vestry;
and of these, 265, or above 50 per cent of the whole, were
removed at an early stage of the complaint to the hospitals
provided for them, while other steps were taken calculated to
prevent the further spread of the malady.
