COLLECTION OF DUST.
Parish of Lewisham.
In my last Annual Report I drew attention to the difficulty
of obtaining shoots for the dust. This has increased this
year, and the whole dust collected was given away. I fear that
before long we shall have to pay for shoots for it. The whole of
the horses employed in this work were hired, those in the Blackheath
and Lewisham Division from Mr. Pickernell, at 5s. per
horse and harness per day; and in the Sydenham and Forest Hill
Division from Mr. Stimpson, at 1s. 6d. per horse and harness per
day; the Board finding carts, men and boys.
