The rainfall, as registered by the raingauge at the Forest Hill Stoneyard, from the 26th March, 1888, to the 25th March, 1889, both inclusive, was as follows :—

In the Parish of Lewisham 40 lamps were moved and four in
the Hamlet of Penge.
The Victoria lantern and burner was removed from the
corner of Thurston Road to the corner of Albion and Clarendon
Roads, to replace the ordinary lamp there, and a new column and
lantern, fitted with a twelve feet per hour burner, was fixed at the
corner of Thurston Road. Lambeth lanterns, to burn twenty feet
per hour, were fixed at Tranquil Vale and Montpelier Vale, and a
similar lantern, but fitted with a ten feet per hour burner, was
fixed at Westwood Park. Messrs. Bray and Co. supplied lamps and
