In addition to the above the Chelsea Water Company charged the
Vestry the sum of £91 4s. 6d. for fixing No. 18 Water Meters. Last
year their charges were made at the rate of 5s. per 1,000 yards superficial
area of roads, now it is made per 1,000 gallons.
During 188G-7 about 4,500 extra lineal yards of roadway have
been added to the streets of the Parish; in addition to this the past
summer was a dry one.

On June 6th, 1887, I presented an estimate to the Vestry, in which
I reckoned the total cost of watering roads for the year would average
£4 18s. 2d. per 1,000 yards superficial.
The actual total expenditure is shewn by the table above to have
been £4 16s. l0d. per 1,000 yards super.

Watering Private Roads.

The following five roads have been watered for the season on receipt of the requisite fee from owners:—

The following roads have been watered on nine Sundays during the
year, 84 horses and men have been employed three hours each at a
