SURVEYOR
For the Year 1887-8.
Mr. Chairman and Gentlemen,
I beg to present to you my second Annual Report of the
various works and matters connected with my department for the year
commencing on the 25th of March, 1887, to the 25th of March, 1888.

ROADS.
The Roads have received careful attention during the year.
Owing to some pressure being exerted to reduce expenditure under
the item of granite, it will be seen by the comparison of expenditure
that considerably less has been used in 1887, than in 1886, and in my
opinion the roads have much deteriorated in condition,
