Should any sample so taken fail to comply with the prescribed
conditions (as set out above) the matter is dealt with by the
Ministry direct.
Of the 12 samples submitted, 4 failed to comply with the
required bacteriological standard. These were specially brought
to the notice of the Ministry of Health.

Grade "A" (Tuberculin Tested) Milk.Standard.

Maximum number of bacteria permitted per 1 cc.Presence of Coliform Bacillus.
200,000Must not be present in 1/100 cc.

Four samples of Grade "A" Tuberculin Tested milk, 2 from
each of the bottling establishments in this Borough were bacteriologically
examined and satisfactorily reported upon.
Pasteurised Milk (Consigned in Sealed Churns).
Forty-three samples of pasteurised milk consigned to Institutions
within this Borough were submitted for examination.
Of this number 35 complied, and 4 failed to comply with the
standard set out in the Milk (Special Designations) Order.
In the 4 remaining instances it was found impossible to estimate
the number of bacteria per c.c. owing to the plates being covered
with the spreading colonies.
