by the Vestry; and, during the hot summer months, they
are frequently deoderised and receive special attention
according to the state of the weather. The number of
gullies emptied were 5,677, from which 2,327 loads of slop
were removed.
SEWER CLEANSING.
The Local Main Sewers are kept free from deposit
and heavy matter by the flushers in the Vestry's service.
The quantity of slop so removed from the sewers during the
past year has been 128 loads.
All the sewers vested in the Vestry are in thorough repair
and working efficiently.
HOUSE DRAINAGE.
206 applications have been received for the drainage of
677 houses into the sewers, and the works in connection
therewith have been carried out under inspection.
REMOVAL OF DUST, DUST BARGING, &c.
The collection of the dust has been carried out, during
the past year, as hitherto, by the plant and appliances,
horses, &c., and drivers and collectors, in the employ of
the Vestry.
