Christmas, 1880.
During the last Quarter I have analyzed thirtyone
samples of Milk. Although the adulteration with
water in six of them amounted only to 5 percent.,
1 cannot too often repeat that the actual quantity
added was more. Another five of these Milks was
admixed with, respectively, 10, 12, 9, 11 and 10 percent.
Yet another was somewhat skimmed. As is
always the case, we have Milks of very high quality,
far above the standard of Public Analysts.
Of Condensed Milks two have been examined,
both of them are good. No. 151 is better than 170.
As these Condensed Milks are of great importance
at the present day, I think it good to place the
analyses side by side. No. 151 is prepared in Switzer.
land, the other, No. 170, is prepared in England:—
