AMBULANCE FACILITIES.
(a) For Infectious Gases.—Provided by the London County
Council. Ambulance Station : Eastern Hospital, Homerton Grove.
(b) For Non-Infectious and Accident Gases.—The London
Coimty Council has an ambulance station in Paragon Road.
(c) For Maternity Gases.— Provided by the London County
Council.
Urgent cases are removed at any hour of the day or night free
of cost on application by a qualified medical practitioner or certified
midwife, provided that a doctor or midwife accompanies the patient.
Non-urgent cases are removed between the hours of 11 p.m.
and 8 a.m. free of cost, if letters of admission to maternity hospitals
are produced. Such cases can be removed between the hours of
8 a.m. and 11 p.m. upon the application of the Public Health
Department at a cost to the Borough Council of 10s. Od. per case.
The Borough Council requires patients to refund the whole or a part
of this charge according to the financial position of the family.
