Cleansing of Persons Act, 1897.
The baths provided by the Borough Council under the above
Act, for the cleansing of verminous persons, were in constant use.
The total number of baths given during the year was 4,229 (250
to adults and 3,979 to children). This total shows a decrease
of 340 upon the number given during 1925.
Of the 4,229 baths given, 596 were sulphur baths for scabies,
and 3,633 for pediculi. The great majority of those persons
presenting themselves for baths were children from the elementary
schools in the Borough. The children received 3,979 baths,
a decrease of 390 upon the number given during 1925.
