(b) Infectious Diseases.—The occupied dwellings inspected
during the year after infectious disease numbered "2,854. This
is an increase of 779 upon the number inspected during 1920.
Any nuisances or sanitary defects found were dealt with under
the provisions of the above Act.
(c) General Inspections.—The number of other inspections
made by the Inspectors during the year was 1,955. These inspections
are in addition to those made under (a) and (b). The
nuisances or sanitary defects found were dealt with in the same
manner as those under (a) and (b).
Nuisances or defects found on inspection were remedied in
most cases on service of an intimation notice only. The total
number of such notices served during 1921 was 7,923. The
number of statutory notices served was 1,657; and summonses
were issued in 115 cases.
