It will be seen from this that the average annual number of
deaths from tuberculosis has progressively decreased during the
period in question, the decline from the period 1898-1900 to the
period 1919-1921, being equal to 45.9. There is good reason to
believe that the Borough Council's Tuberculosis Scheme is doing
valuable work, although much might be done in the direction of
improving the present scheme.

Public Health (Tuberculosis) Regulations, 1912.
Under these Regulations 975 notifications of tuberculosis were
received during the year, of which 800 were pulmonary and 175
non-pulmonary notifications.
