Population and Density.
Area=3,287 acres.
Population—Census, 1901 = 219,780

The population of the Borough at the middle of the year 1921
is estimated by the Registrar-General to number:
224,200
This gives a density of population for the whole Borough of
68.2 persons per acre, varying from 52.5 persons per acre in the
Northern Sub-district to 98.1 persons per acre in the Southwestern
Sub-district. The following table gives the estimated
population and density of population per acre for each of the
Registration Sub-districts in the Borough:—
