This Authority has proposed that the approval and registration of premises would facilitate
closer control over the public health aspects of the trade. This would ensure that no person
would be allowed to engage in pet meat trade until his premises, equipment and record keeping
system had been inspected and approved by the local authority.

FERTILISERS AND FEEDING STUFFS REGULATIONS, 1960
Twenty-four samples of Feeding Stuffs were submitted to the Agricultural Analyst. No
sample of Fertiliser was sent.
In each case the sample was found to be within the limits of variation permissible under the
Regulations.
STUDENTS AND VISITORS
Student Public Health Inspectors
Seven student public health inspectors are employed by the Authority. One completed the
four year course and obtained the Diploma of Public Health Inspector. He was subsequently
appointed as Port Health Inspector with the Authority.
Fifty six student public health inspectors from other local authorities received instruction
for three or more days in port health work.
Visitors
A considerable number of doctors and public health inspectors from home and foreign government
departments, local authorities and institutes of health education visited the port during the
year. The overseas countries sending visitors included Africa, Australia, Canada, various European
Countries, India, Hong Kong, South America and New Zealand.
