It appears, on perusal of the above Table, that the rate of mortality of children under 5 years of
age, in relation to the total deaths in the entire District is 45.3 per cent. It varies, however, in
the several sub-districts. Thus, in the Artillery sub-district it is 55.5 per cent. ; in the Whitechapel
North, it is 58.8 per cent. ; in the Goodman's Fields it is 78.3 per cent. ; and in the
Spitalfields it is 70.3 per cent.
