It appears, on perusal of the above Table, that the rate of mortality of children under 5 years of
age, in relation to the total deaths in the entire District is 47.9 per cent. It varies, however, in
the several sub-districts. Thus, in the Artillery sub-district it is 69.6 percent.; in the Whitechapel
North, it is 66.6 per cent.; in the Goodman's Fields it is 74.5 percent.; and in the
Spitalfields it is 65.1 percent.
