It appears, on perusal of the above Table, that the rate of mortality of children under 5 years of
age, in relation to the total deaths in the entire'District is 41.0 per cent. It varies, however, in
the several sub-districts. Thus, in the Artillery sub-district, it is 70 0 per cent.; in the Whitechapel
North, it is 56.6 per cent.; in the Goodman's Fields it is 69 2 per cent.; and in the
Spitalfields it is 56-9 per cent.
