10289224133548572The deaths from consumption are included in the tubercular class. In the first quarter of the year, they were 65, in the second 68, in the third 76, and in the fourth 64, making a total of 273. During the previous year, the deaths from consumption were 252.

All cases of delirum tremens, many cases of dropsy, and of renal dis-ease, and numerous cases of violent death, are the result of intemperance.

Of the 548 Deaths from Zymotic Diseases, 93 were cases of Fever, and 141 of Diarrhœa; and out of the total Deaths there died in the year—

* All the deaths in the London Hospital, which are the result of violence, are placed to
the account of the mortality of the district; but as no account of the deaths of the parishioners
who die in the several charitable institutions in the metropolis is obtained, the defect in the
record of the one will compensate for the excess in the other.
