NOISE ABATEMENT
The Noise Abatement Act, 1960, came into force during the year
and makes noise and vibration nuisances statutory nuisances for the purposes
of the Public Health Act, 1936.
The Act provides that a complaint of the existence of a nuisance
may be made by three or more persons each of whom is the occupier of land
or premises and in that capacity is aggrieved by the nuisance. The Act
does not apply to noise or vibration from aircraft and in proceedings it
is a defence to prove that the best practicable means have been adopted
for preventing the nuisance.
FACTORIES ACT. 1957
Prescribed particulars required by section 128 (3) in respect of
matters under Part I and Part VIII of the Act which are administered by
the District Council.
