A total of 6,557 children attended during the year.
*The Child Health Centre at St. Barnabas' Church Hall was discontinued
in November, difficulties having been experienced in providing
adequate heating, and new premises were rented in Longley
Road, commencing on 11th November.

Dental Care
During 1969, reduced staff, particularly of Dental Auxiliaries,
accounted for 52 fewer sessions being devoted to this work. Inspections,
however, were about the same, 614 in 1968 and 607 in 1969.
Of these, fewer required treatment, 305 in 1968 and 276 in 1969.
Following his visit of Inspection in March, 1969, an officer of the
Department of Education and Science reported on the Dental Services
as follows: 'The Service for Mothers and Pre-school Children
has developed satisfactorily, and the Authority is congratulated on the
