Merton and Morden 1950

Ophthalmia Neonatorum. One case was notified during
the year; recovery was complete and vision unimpaired.
Pneumonia. There were 75 notifications of Pneumonia, of
which seventeen were stated to be influenzal in origin. The
number of cases notified in the previous year was 74.
Puerperal Pyrexia. There were six notifications of Puerperal
Pyrexia, giving a rate of 6.28 per thousand births. All
these cases occurred in hospital, and the patients recovered.
CLEANSING STATION.
There was a further decrease in the number of attendances
at the Cleansing Station during the year, the total being 22 as
compared with 128 in 1949 and 229 in the year before. The
details of the attendances during the year are as follows:—

Cases of Scabies with concurrent verminous head
Cases of Scabies with Secondary Septic Skin conditions
Number of cases of verminous heads only 6
