Merton and Morden 1949

Milk Supply. There are no producers of milk registered
within the urban district.
Practically all the milk supplied to the district is derived
from the South-eastern Counties and arrives either by rail or
road. One hundred and five inspections were made to dairies
and milk shops during 1949. Forty nine samples of milk were
submitted for bacteriological examination during the year. Three
samples of Tuberculin Tested, four of Pasteurised and three of
Tuberculin Tested (Pasteurised) Milk failed to conform to the
prescribed standard.
