TUBERCULOSIS.
One hundred and nineteen new eases were added to the
register of tuberculous persons. compared with 139 in 1945.
These additions were:—

Of these 119, 85 were primary notifications, 27 were transferred
from other districts, and 7 came to notice in other ways.
During the year 98 persons were removed from the
register for the following reasons:—
Recovered 17
Removed from the district 44
Death 37
After allowing for the additions and deductions, the
number remaining on the register at the 31st December, 1946,
was distributed as shown in the following table:—

The Anti-Tuberculosis Scheme in this district is administered
by the County Council. Institutional treatment was
